About

Some people seem to have the natural ability to whiz around a computer, making it comply with their every desire, tweaking it to their heart’s content, and never encountering a single problem.

But for the rest of us, this stuff can get a little confusing. What software should you download? What tasks can be handled manually? When should you call a professional?

Windows Techies is for that second group. It is for those of us who could use a little help making Microsoft Windows easier.

Becoming a Windows “expert” isn’t hard, you just need to have the right information. And that is our aim with this site. We want to arm you with the information you need to make your computing life a breeze.

Who Writes All These Tips?

Everything currently on Windows Techies has been researched and written by founder and chief editor Lance Cobain.

Lance has been heavily involved with Windows since 1992. In his 20 years of experience, he has worked professionally as a software developer and Windows technician.

Having plenty of face-to-face experience with beginning PC users, Lance quickly learned how to explain Windows in a way that anyone can understand.

How Can I Participate?

There are a few ways you can participate on this site, and we strongly encourage you to do just that.

The best way to learn is to do. So with that said, the first form of participation is putting our tips to use. Once you have given them a try, make sure to leave a comment.

And that leads us to our second form of participation, comments. On most of our pages, you have the ability to leave a comment. Please let us know how the tip worked for you or if you need extra help with something.

If you have a question that hasn’t already been answered, you can always ask it in our Q&A section. When you submit a question, you will receive help advice from Lance and the entire Windows Techies community.

Lastly, we are always on the lookout for new tips, so if you have one, please let us know about it. We will research it, write up an article, create a video (if necessary), and even give you credit in the post.

What Else Are You Working On?

While we make a point to continually provide new tips, reviews, and advice, we also have a few big projects underway.

Windows Techies plans to release a full line of training manuals, videos, and software to help make your Windows experience better than you could imagine.

Can I Advertise On This Site?

We do not currently accept advertising on Windows Techies in any form. We may change this policy in the future, but for now, we’re only interested in providing our readers with unbiased tips and reviews.

Occasionally, some of the products we mention will be linked with an affiliate link. This means that if you purchase something through one of these links, Windows Techies will receive a commission. We will, however, only recommend products that we believe in.
